POCO X2 – Better than Realme X2?

POCO F1 was the first mid-range premium flagship device, with a lot of interesting specs and features. POCO F1 was a huge success and proved that a flagship device can exist even in the mid-range segment too. Now, Poco has launched another smartphone named POCO X2. Many people believe it is a rebranding of Redmi  K30, well it looks similar too. Both the physical design and specifications are the same, the only difference is of branding. Talking furthermore about the new POCO X2, here are the features.

POCO X2 Overview

POCO X2

POCO X2 is mounted with a quad-camera setup at the back and dual front camera. There is the camera bump at the back with a glossy glass finish. It has a dual punch hole camera on the front with a huge 6.67 inches display. It has the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass in front and back which is scratch resistant. POCO X2 has the IR Blaster and the 3.5 mm audio jack. It has the volume rockers and the power on/off button on the right.

The interesting concept is that the fingerprint sensor is integrated within the power button. I personally feel that it’s a better decision rather than the back or in-display fingerprint. I have read and heard that many in-display fingerprint sensor doesn’t work sometimes, so a physical fingerprint is better. It has a hybrid sim slot on the right side, which means it has no dedicated SD card slot.

POCO X2 comes in three color variants – Atlantis Blue, Phoenix Red & Matrix Purple. The dimensions of this phone are 165.3 x 76.6 x 8.8 mm and weigh around 208 grams. Last time in POCO F1 the device was great but because of the build quality, it was not that much appraised by the consumer. So this time POCO has done well with the build quality and the specs, they have created a perfect combination.

Display

X2 has 6.67 inches (16.9 cm) an IPS LCD Capacitive touchscreen display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. POCO X2 has the Extreme refresh rate of 120Hz which makes it snappy and really fast. Along with that, it has a large cinematic screen which is pretty good for gaming as well as watching movies or series.

Camera

POCO X2

The new POCO phone has the quad-camera setup (2+8+2+64) at the back. The main camera is 64MP Sony IMX686 with aperture f/1.89 to capture stunning shots. POCO also claims that it is the first smartphone in India to have a Sony IMX686 camera. The 8MP camera with aperture f/2.2 is for the ultra-wide-angle picture to cover whole scenery. It also has a 2MP camera with aperture f/2.4 for Macro shots or takes a close picture of objects. Another 2MP camera with aperture f/2.0 is for depth sensing to give wonderful details of the click.

POCO X2 has dual front in-screen cameras setup (20+2MP) with aperture f/2.2 to take amazing selfies. The camera design is unique to any other smartphone and looks interesting. It has many shooting modes like Continuos Shooting, Burst mode, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR). The captured images have a resolution of 9000 x 7000 Pixels.

Performance and Storage

X2 is powered by the new dual Octa-Core(2×2.2 GHz Kryo 470 Gold + 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver) with a chipset of Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G. It has the Adreno 618 GPU with liquid cooling technology to prevent the heating issue after heavy usage. POCO X2 comes in many storage options-

RAM+ Storage                 PRICE (INR)

(6+64GB)                           15,999/-

(6+128GB)                         16,999/-

(8+256GB)                         19,999/-

It has a hybrid sim slot, so you can add an SD card to increase the storage option. POCO F1 performed well and was loved by the gamers and other heavy users, and now they can rely on the new X2 too. The new chipset SDM730 Snapdragon 730G (8 nm) has performed well and scored over 2,74,330 in the AnTuTu score which is a great number.

Battery and Box Content

The POCO X2 has a huge 4500mAh battery with fast charging support and can charge 100% in 68 mins. With that much battery, it can easily last up to 1 and half-day and easily up to a day after heavy usage. Although you get a 27-watt fast charger in the box, so if you feel you are running out of battery just plug in and wait for a little. Also, POCO has performed a thermal test while charging the phone whether the charger doesn’t heat much and claims that there would be no such issues.

Talking about the box content you will get a 27-watt fast charger, a soft case for protection, a USB type C cable, some basic paperwork along with the warranty card and a sim-ejector tool.
